Exercising For Weeks But Can’t Lose Weight?
If you are having trouble losing weight, even with proper exercise, don’t panic. There is nothing preventing you from losing that dad bod that you can not fix. In fact, you are probably making one of three very common mistakes. Take a look.
Not Tracking Your Nutrition
If you are not monitoring your nutrition and counting calories, you are just spinning your wheels. It is almost impossible to eat at a deficit without tracking and losing weight is all about calories in being less than calories out (burned).
Pick up a free nutrition tracker like Cronometer, set a reasonable deficit of 500 calories a day and you will likely start dropping the pounds.
Incorrectly Portioning
This goes hand in hand with calorie counting. If you are portioning incorrectly, you are consuming more than you think. The problem is that most people are used to fast food sizes and do not know what a real portion or serving size is.
Purchase an inexpensive food scale and weight your food for a couple of weeks. By the end of that period, you should be able to eyeball a real portion.
Poor Protein Consumption
You should be getting 1 gram of protein in per pound of body weight. If you do not get enough protein and you are exercising, you will not be building muscle. In addition, protein makes you feel full and can boost your metabolism because it is hard for your body to digest. In fact, as much as 30 percent of the calories that you get from protein go back into digesting it.
In Conclusion
If you are exercising and not losing weight there is nothing wrong with you, but you are doing something wrong. Fix the above mistakes and you can lose weight and your dad bod.
